Outreach (Menstrual Hygiene Awareness & Training Program)

The menstrual hygiene awareness and training program is a vital part of our commitment to empowering women and girls in vulnerable communities. Menstrual hygiene plays a fundamental role in ensuring the dignity, health, and well-being of women and girls worldwide. Globally, approximately 52% of the female population and 26% of women of reproductive age menstruate every month, yet many still face stigma and inadequate access to menstrual hygiene resources.

In rural settings, particularly among school-going girls, the challenges are even greater. Many young girls struggle with limited knowledge, a lack of sanitary materials, and insufficient private spaces for managing menstruation safely. Inadequate preparations for those yet to experience menstruation and poor access to washrooms further compound the issue. As a result, many girls miss school or suffer silently due to misinformation and shame surrounding menstruation.

At Here4You Foundation, we actively address these challenges through our dedicated outreach initiatives. Our team visits remote communities to educate women and young girls on menstrual health and hygiene management. During our Outreach (Menstrual Hygiene Awareness & Training Program) in the Kakiri community, we provided practical training on making reusable sanitary pads, ensuring sustainability and affordability. Moreover, young girls who had not yet started menstruating received guidance to prepare them for this natural stage of life.
