Introduction
The Outreach at TORUWO (Mother’s Day) honored and supported mothers of children with disabilities at the TORUWU (Training of Rural Women in Uganda) Home in Kikajjo. As part of our commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities, Here4You Foundation partnered with TORUWU to create a meaningful and memorable Mother’s Day experience. This initiative aimed to recognize the strength, resilience, and daily sacrifices of these remarkable women.
About TORUWU
TORUWU (Training of Rural Women in Uganda) is a registered Non-Governmental Organisation under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Uganda Registration No. 3371. Two visionary founders established it in 2000 with a mission to drive sustainable development within Kikajjo Village in Wakiso District. Since then, TORUWU has continued to empower rural women through training, support programs, and community-based development.
Community Engagement and Donations
The day began with warm interactions and thoughtful conversations that strengthened unity among mothers, volunteers, and staff. Generous well-wishers contributed clothes, shoes, food items, soap, Pampers, sugar, and sanitary pads. These essential supplies offered practical relief and supported the mothers in their daily caregiving duties. In addition, the team engaged both mothers and children in fun and interactive activities, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere.
Activities and Shared Moments
The outreach also included entertainment, meal sharing, and heartfelt testimonials. Several mothers openly shared their experiences, challenges, and hopes for the future. These moments nurtured trust and deepened the sense of community. To explore the broader impact of our work, we encourage you to visit our impact reach page.
