On 11th August 2023, Here4You Foundation carried out a medical outreach to Bussi Island, a calm and scenic community on Lake Victoria in Uganda. The island, located near Mabamba Swamp, is well known for its rare shoebill stork and beautiful natural surroundings. Despite its charm, the community faces challenges in accessing reliable healthcare.
The medical outreach aimed to change that by delivering essential health services to families on the island. Our medical team provided free consultations, dental checkups, and antenatal care. In addition, residents attended health education sessions focused on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention. These services not only treated illness but also built awareness for healthier living.
During the medical outreach to Bussi Island, more than 200 residents received medication and professional care. Most of them were mothers, children, and elderly individuals who often find it hard to reach mainland hospitals. As a result, the program strengthened community trust and encouraged better preventive health practices across the island.
This achievement was possible because of our dedicated volunteers, partners, and local leaders. They worked together tirelessly, ensuring every person received attention and compassion. Their teamwork reflected the foundation’s mission to bring hope and healing to those in need.
